Ryan Rich has been farming for 12 years. He got a B.S. from The University of Vermont in 1995. He has always farmed organically and strives to build soils rather than depleting them. Building a strong connection to the seasons, the variances of the weather and the subtle differences of parts of the fields and hills is what drives him.
He works at the local and state level tackling the issues related to the risks of genetically engineered crops and foods. Ryan does not use any genetically engineered organisms on the farm and never will.
He has returned as well to an old love and that is cheese. He sources artisan farmstead cheeses from small dairies around the country and offers them on the website as well as in stores and restaurants here in California.
